What is Intern for ESD?

Intern for ESD is a new internship programme that NaDEET is offering to a small group of post-graduate students, which will provide them with both formal training and practical experience in ESD to become confident and competent environmental educators.

For 9 months, participants will live and work with a team of experienced NaDEET staff on the beautiful NamibRand Nature Reserve. Here they will attend modules and workshops on ESD, which are based on NaDEET’s Teach for ESD programme. These modules and workshops will provide the theory alongside the practical ESD work that the interns will be doing at NaDEET Centre and the NaDEET Homestead.

Internship Dates:

The internship will start at the end of March 2022 and end in early December 2022.

At the end of the programme, interns will have:

• Received formal training in ESD with a certificate of completion
• Gained first-hand experience in running ESD programmes
• Gained first-hand experience, practical skills, and knowledge in sustainable living
• Had an immersive and transformative learning experience in ESD and sustainable community living in the beautiful and ancient Namib Desert
• Connected with networks in the ESD community in Namibia
• Increased their employability in ESD based fields
