Meet our Team

Viktoria Keding is the Director and co-founder of NaDEET. Viktoria has spearheaded all aspects of NaDEET including management, teaching and the development of programmes, activities and educational materials. Of German parents, Viktoria was raised in the United States and completed her university degree in Environmental Studies at Bowdoin College and obtained her MSc in Sustainable Development from University of London. Viktoria serves on the Namibia National ESD Task Force and is member of the UNESCO ESD Expert-Net. Viktoria has been recognised and awarded for her contributions to ESD with several awards including the 2018 Common Good Award from her alma mater.

Andreas Keding is the Technical Director. He oversees a wide range of operational and technical aspects including design & construction, sustainable technology solutions, HR and IT. Growing up in South Africa, Germany and then Namibia he studied Natural Resource Management at the Polytechnic of Namibia. He worked in guiding at Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation where radio tracking of cheetah and leopard was part of his daily work. As a co-founder of NaDEET, he designed and built NaDEET Centre in 2003. He then worked for the NamibRand Nature Reserve in land management for five years before returning full time to NaDEET in 2009.

 

Priscilla Kuzeeko is the NaDEET Financial & Administrative Officer. She is responsible for managing the bookkeeping and regular finances as well as the NaDEET Centre bookings, food and stationary orders and general office management. 

 

 

 Alisa Volkmann is the Environmental Education Programme Developer. She has a BSc in Conservation Ecology, a diploma in both Sustainable Development and Education. Passionate about Namibia’s unique biodiversity, she is one of the key educators for the Teach for ESD programme and Intern for ESD.

Jonah Ndeuludila is the Operations Manager at NaDEET Centre. He began as an intern and then fully joined the NaDEET team in 2019. After playing a significant role on the technical team to develop our sustainable garden and NaDEET base modernisation project, he took up his new management role. 

Tuwilika Shihepo is our Urban Sustainability Centre Manager. Starting as a student intern in 2018 Tuli has been a permanent part of the NaDEET team since 2022. With an Honours Degree in Nature Conservation, Tuli manages the Urban Centre, supports Teach for ESD and loves teaching.

Damaris Braune is the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluations (PME) Officer & Urban Sustainability Centre Manager. Originally from the United States she has called Namibia home since 2012. With a background in international development in the Namibian education sector and has a B.A.- University in Vermont.

 

Helena Moses is a Garden & Kitchen Supervisor at NaDEET Centre and brings fun to her work! She is excited about working with participants and sharing her passion for cooking. She is the backbone for running the food garden.

Elizabeth Namulo is an Environmental Educator at NaDEET Centre. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Nature Conservation, she began at NaDEET through the Intern for ESD programme. Today she teaches all all age groups at the Centre and supports the Teach for ESD programme.

 

Festus Awene is an Environmental Educator at NaDEET Centre. With a degree in Biology, he began at NaDEET through the Intern for ESD programme. Festus is passionate about conservation of wildlife and nature which he enthusiastically shares with participants. he is supporting the Teach for ESD programme.
 

Asteria Kayawala is a Project assistant at NaDEET Urban Sustainability Centre. With an Honors degree in Geoinformation Technology, she joined the team in September 2024 through the Postgraduate internship program. She now supports projects at both the Urban Centre and NaDEET Head Office.

 

Chris-Lee Asheendo is an Assistant Environmental Educator at the Urban Centre. He joined NaDEET through the Postgraduate Internship in July 2024 after earning a degree in Nature Conservation. Chris-Lee enjoys spotting new plants and animals and is a valued member of the team.

Lulu Bitz is a Kitchen Educator at NaDEET Centre since 2023. She is enthusiastic about cooking and has many years of experience in the tourism industry. 

Lea Shikomba is a kitchen educator at the Urban Sustainability Centre. She has a passion for cooking and enjoys creating exciting menus. Although new to the Urban Centre, Lea is no stranger to NaDEET, having first joined NaDEET Centre in 2019. She has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Elmarie Naris is a Kitchen Educator at NaDEET Centre. Having started out as a NaDEET Centre Assistant and Housekeeper, Elmarie is a cornerstone of the NaDEET Team.

Daniel Shifika is the General Handyman.  He is responsible for maintenance at NaDEET Centre and NaDEET Base infrastructure.

 

Mike Katambo is our General Caretaker and Gardener. He has honed his skills in composting since at NaDEET and successfully keeps things growing in the desert environment.
