Learning and Living
for a Sustainable Future!
Being the driest country in sub-Saharan Africa, trees in Namibia do not grow quickly, especially in the Namib! But nonetheless indigenous trees are an important part of ecosystem restoration and combating climate change.
Since 2020, NaDEET has a small native tree nursery to grow seedlings for local tree planting on NamibRand Nature Reserve.
In 2011 to celebrate the UN International Year of Forests, we planted one tree for every day of the year. Being the driest country in sub-Saharan Africa, trees in Namibia do not grow quickly, especially in the Namib!
