Our popular Urban Sustainability Centre must find a new home! We have found a property that will allow us to continue and improve upon our current environmental education programmes. Now we need your help to make it a reality.

Unique Urban-Inspired State-of-the-Art Environmental Education Centre

The new Urban Sustainability Centre will further compliment NaDEET Centre, using best practices for the urban environment and strengthening NaDEET’s promise to ‘practice what we teach.’ With our own premises we can better implement the practical aspects of our programme including environmental auditing, energy efficiency and renewable energies, urban food gardening and much more. As with all of our programmes, participants gain hands-on experience in these sustainability practices. 

2 x Beneficiaries

The current space for the Urban Centre can only accommodate 20 schoolchildren per programme. The new Urban Sustainability Centre will accommodate an entire class or club, between 30-40 schoolchildren per programme, reaching twice as many schoolchildren per year. It will also allow us to better serve our teachers and expand our youth and adult programmes.

Day Visitor Centre & Pillar of the Swakopmund Community

The new Urban Sustainability Centre facilities and resources will allow the Urban Centre to better engage with the wider Swakopmund community, local day visitors and tourists to learn more about environmental problems and solutions. More people will be educated about sustainability and the centre will ensure a lasting impression on all visitors to practice more sustainable action through an increased educational opportunities.
