July has been “the month of the secondary schools” at NaDEET Centre! Thanks to the funding of NedBank Go Green three groups from Daweb JSS, Empelheim JSS and WJD Cloete had the chance to experience a week at NaDEET. Through interactive game-activities such as “The Environmental Problem Tree”, “Prioritize Your Pyramid”, “Shop Till You Drop” and “The G6 Challenge” the schoolchildren learnt about the causes of the environmental problems, their consequences and thought of the possible solutions to solve them. They then critically discussed about important social and global issues and tried to decide which one are more urgent and need to be faced first. Last but not least the participants prepared and enjoyed delicious solar-cooked meals!
